Scope:
Construction of a new 65,000 sq. ft. food preparation and distribution facility for the City of New Haven school system.
Challenges:
This project required removal of soil under the building to fifteen feet outside the periphery to a depth of eight feet. R2D installed four feet of structural fill needed to bring the building base up to finish floor building elevations. All concrete work, interior site excavation/structural fill, plumbing and electrical work (below the slab) was done during the winter months of 2003, one of the coldest winters in years for Connecticut.
